Online version of the Multiple Stimulus Types Ambiguity Tolerance Scale (MSTAT-I), a 22-item self-report measure developed by David L. McLain to assess individual differences in tolerance for ambiguity. The scale evaluates a person's orientation toward ambiguous stimuli and situations, including those that are complex, unfamiliar, uncertain, or open to multiple interpretations.
A later 13-item version, the MSTAT-II, is also available as a shorter measure of ambiguity tolerance with improved psychometric properties.
