An initial 20-item unidimensional version is assessing general appetitive motivation (core BAS functioning), A shortened 14-item version distinguishes between two components – appetitive motivation (goal-directed reward sensitivity) and impulsivity, reflecting more spontaneous and hedonistic tendencies.
