Paranoia defined as a disordered mode of thought that is dominated by an intense, irrational, but persistent mistrust or suspicion of people and a corresponding tendency to interpret the actions of others as deliberately threatening or demeaning.

Sub-clinical paranoia defined as a style of thought manifested by exaggerated self-referential biases that arise in ordinary, daily behaviour.
