Raw Score | |
50 | |
[ mild depression ] |
Index Score | |
62 | |
[ moderate to marked depression ] |
Scores are classified as:
• Less than 50 – Normal
• 50-59 – Mild depression
• 60-69 – Moderate to marked major depression
• More than 70 – Severe to extreme major depression
Please note: Originally norms above should be applied to Index Score, however the 2019 paper (Dunstan, Scott) shows that those researchers who mistakenly applied the cut-off score of 50 to Raw Score would seem likely to have achieved greater accuracy in their classifications. Paper recommend the use of an SDS raw score of 50 as the cut-off point for clinical significance.
