The GAAIS measures general attitudes toward AI along two independent dimensions. Authors do not recommend calculating an overall score.
Higher scores on each subscale represent more positive attitudes towards Artificial Intelligence.
• Positive GAAIS – reflects perceived societal and personal utility, opportunities, benefits, and positive emotions associated with AI.
Higher scores indicate greater enthusiasm and perceived usefulness of AI.
• Negative GAAIS – reflects concerns, fears, and negative emotions associated with AI (e.g., perceived danger, unethical use, loss of control).
Lower scores indicate stronger concerns and distrust toward AI, while higher scores indicate positive attitude.
