Online version of the Seeking of Noetic Goals (SONG), a self-report test developed by James Crumbaugh within the logotherapy tradition. The SONG was designed as a complementary measure to the Purpose in Life Test (PIL): whereas the PIL assesses the extent to which a person experiences life as meaningful, the SONG assesses the motivation or need to search for meaning and purpose. The term “noetic” refers to specifically human capacities such as values, goals, creativity, love, humor, and the will to meaning.
