Online version of the Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS), a clinician-administered scale designed to quantify the severity and symptom type associated with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). It specifically assesses the patient's experience across five dimensions for both obsessions and compulsions over the preceding week.
The original scale is a semi-structured interview intended to be administered by a clinician. The online version of the Y-BOCS is simplified (does not include interview questions) and can only be used to calculate the score.
The self-report scale (Y-BOCS-SR), initially described by Rosenfeld (1992) and Baer (1993), was validated by Steketee et al. (1996), but the scale itself was not officially published. A proposed variant of such a scale is presented here.
