Gamification User Types Hexad Scale

Online version of the Gamification User Types Hexad Scale, designed to measure users' preferences towards the six different motivations in the Hexad framework, derived from Self-Determination Theory. The scale assesses individual differences in how people respond to common gamification elements and reward structures in digital systems. Gamification refers to the use of game design elements in non-game contexts.

The Hexad model identifies six user types based on dominant motivational drivers: Philanthropists, who are motivated by purpose and helping others; Socialisers, who value interaction and social connections; Free Spirits, who are driven by autonomy, creativity, and exploration; Achievers, who seek mastery, progress, and challenges; Players, who are primarily motivated by rewards; and Disruptors, who are inclined to challenge or change existing systems.
