Online version of the World Assumptions Scale (WAS), a self-report measure assessing fundamental beliefs about the self and the world. The scale is organized into three domains – benevolence of the world, meaningfulness of events, and self-worth – and includes eight subscales: benevolence of the world, benevolence of people, justice, controllability, randomness, self-worth, self-controllability, and luck. It captures how individuals interpret the world as safe or threatening, predictable or random, and themselves as worthy or vulnerable.
