Online version of the Maladaptive Schema Scale (MSS 1.4), a comprehensive self-report measure assessing maladaptive schemas of clinical relevance to the development and maintenance of psychopathology. Although the MSS is a transdiagnostic tool, maladaptive schemas have been shown to be associated with a wide range of mental health conditions.
The MSS builds on traditional early maladaptive schemas described by Jeffrey Young and integrates additional schemas based on attachment theory, trauma research, and empirical psychometric evidence. It therefore provides a more comprehensive and contemporary assessment of schemas compared to the YSQ, while remaining shorter in length.
