Freiburg Mindfulness Inventory, FMI-13R

Online version of the Freiburg Mindfulness Inventory (FMI-13R – Revised Short Form), a self-report measure assessing mindfulness as a general tendency toward present-moment awareness and acceptance. The scale reflects a broad mindfulness factor that can be understood in terms of two closely related components: presence and non-judgmental acceptance of experience.

The scale is based on one of the earliest mindfulness instruments, the original 30-item Freiburg Mindfulness Inventory, developed through extensive background research of Buddhist texts and interviews with experts. The short form was created by removing items that were difficult for individuals without meditation experience, resulting in a more accessible and widely used measure of everyday mindfulness.
